Tester Onboarding & Guide
Thank you for participating in the HuePulse Closed Testing track. Your feedback helps ensure zero-latency synchronization, robust background audio execution, and flawless stability across Android devices.
⏳ Critical Google Requirement: Keep Installed for 14 Days
To allow HuePulse to be officially approved for production on the Google Play Store, Google strictly requires that all 20 opted-in testers keep the application installed on their Android device for at least 14 continuous days. Please do not uninstall the app during this period, and feel free to open it occasionally to test your favorite tunes!
Step 1: Accept the Google Play Invite
1. Open the testing invitation link sent to your registered Gmail account.
2. Click "Become a Tester".
3. Download and install HuePulse directly from the Google Play Store on your Android device.
Step 2: Choose Your Testing Mode
A) If you have a Philips Hue Bridge & Lights:
Connect your phone to the same Wi-Fi network as the Hue Bridge. Open HuePulse, press the physical circular button on your Bridge when prompted, and select your Entertainment Area.
B) If you DO NOT have physical Philips Hue Hardware:
No problem! Tap "Simulador / Demo Mode" inside the app. HuePulse includes a live 4-bulb virtual room simulator with identical physics (attack, decay, strobe blinder, audio equalizers) so you can test all features and audio reactivity using only your phone's microphone.
Step 3: What to Verify
- Microphone Permission: Verify that the initial audio permission prompt functions cleanly.
- Lock Screen / Background Execution: Turn on
SYNC ON, play music (or Spotify), and turn off your screen or minimize the app. Verify that the persistent status bar notification remains active and lights/audio bars continue reacting. - Strobe Presets: Test both EDM Strobe Flash (reactive to beat drops) and Strobe Rítmico (BPM Sync chaser and fixed Hz).
- Display Zoom & Text Scale: Check that cards and buttons fit cleanly without any yellow/black overflow stripes.
